We were looked after very well - we had tghe best room on the top floor as agreed for the 2nd nights and the receptionist was excellent. A lovely stay. ... Would stay there again! ... Very cosy - small, friendly and central.

on entering hotel suprised by the mountain of stairs to climb alright for reasonably mobile but not for physically impaired ... breakfast a little sparse boiled egg each , loaf of bread ,orange juice and a biscuit with a dairylea we had to get a proper breakfast after .

We did not expect anything of superior quality given the price. Everything was fine except of the cold room at our arrival which was a surprise as we should have been expected. Anyhow, we took it as local culture. ... Polite staff, they offered possibility to keep our lugage. ... Positive: tea and coffe service in room
... We stayed in old house which was fine experience, to see the style how such building was built. The stairs were very steep, interesting to see. The room was rebuilt - shower and toilet were built-in into the sqare room, it 'took-off' one corner of a room. Toilet and shower was very small, but sufficient to use. We stayed very close to Dam square, few minutes on foot, and there was a very nice pub just at the corner where we had a dinner - pizza or anything else and good beer.

We loved our stay in De Westertoren and we enjoyed Amsterdam very much.The Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.For the price we paid we are satisfied with our choice.Maybe the breakfast could be more plentiful. ... the staircase very difficult to climb expecially for elder people or for people with legs or knees problems.

The room was small but clean. Toilet was a problem, very tiny, with wc, shower and basin in a too small space. When we took shower the toilet was flooded. There isn't any dining room for breakfast, but it is served in your own room and you have only a small table on it. In the room there isn't any furniture than beds. Anyway the staff was polite, the hotel is clean and quiet, and the position is ideal, near to the centre. Maybe the daily rate we paid was just a liitle too high than the service provided (especially because of the bathroom). ... Maybe you can find a better place for the same amount of money we paid for this hotel.

I had no idea that the hotel would be up two flights of narrow stairs and there would be no lifts. I had very heavy luggage and it was extremely difficult to take up to the room. The staff did not offer to help me at all with the luggage. ... The room was very clean and private but smaller than I thought it would be. There was little room to open one's luggage and still have any room to walk around. Shower was very nice and bed was confortable. Breakfast was quite satisfactory. ... I would definitely tell people there is no lift and that the hotel is on the second and third floors or upstairs. ... Very small rooms...upstairs...but clean and with a good breakfast and tea and coffee available.

We had to climb the 5m high stairs with our luggage.
... The breakfast was supposed to be served at 9 o'clock. The stuff was polite but not very professional.We had to wake up the receptionist in order to get our breakfast.

The receptionist pushed for a cash payment instead of credit card payments, even though they accept credit cards. ... There were no screens on the windows, and they had left the windows open since there is no AC. I closed the windows because of bugs, and the next day when they cleaned the room, they reopened the windows...
The room was small, and the bathroom was tiny, but clean. There was no phone in the room, which was a slight inconvenience.
My room had a private bathroom, but was also next to the public bath in the hallway, and that made it noisy, as every time somebody used that bathroom, I would hear the door and the water.
The 3 flights of Amsterdam stairs (narrow and winding) were not easy with my bag. No lift/elevator. ... Stairs should be mentioned. No AC and no screens on the windows. Breakfast at 8 a.m. only. ... Fair and tolerable for a couple of nights if you don't have kids or any health problems.

although the people who ran the hotel we nice the room was not what i expected. i had an email conversation about the steps to the hotel and was told ther were not very many when in truth there were alot and they were very steep. this was not what i expected and didn't accomodate the needs of one of the people with limited mobility who was traveling with us. i had to book a seperate room for this person which was a real hassle and an added expense.
