Extremely well located in easily the nicest part of the town, calm and peacefull but just in 5-10 mins walk into busy city centre. Accomodation is full of character and charm very nicely decorated with some antique furniture. If you are looking for a short stay in Ams and want to get something other than 'faceless big hotel' - that's your choice. Hosts are very welcoming and pleasant.

The owner was polite and welcoming above and beyond the call of duty: he gave us wine, and told us about all of the good areas and best restaurants to visit.

The images on the website were great, but in reality, the apartment was even better. The apartment was gorgeous - stylish, spacious and very clean. It even smelled beautiful: the bedclothes were the most freshly scented bedclothes that I have ever smelled! It had a CD player too.

The staff were very relaxed and trusting about checking out - they didn't even ask to view the apartment before we left.

I have already recommended the accomodation to a friend. I told her that it was beautiful, and was in the most picturesque and interesting area of Amsterdam. She has booked a room there, and will be visiting in two months' time.

I booked a double room for my partner and myself, but on arrival was taken to a beautiful apartment with lounge, bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower and toilet room with bidet. There was also fresh flowers in the room for us.

Only negative was that it was no smoking, but didn't mind going outside to smoke as in a nice quiet area.

I would describe the apartment as the nicest accomodation I have ever had the pleasure of staying in and I have been a regular visitor to Amsterdam for several years.

Can't go wrong with this accomadation, we looked at so many hotels in Amsterdam, which were very expensive. This was such a bargin and so easy to book. The owner of guest house was more than helpful, a really nice guy. Will be returning in the very near future, can't wait. Thanks to www.AmsterdamBy.Com for this A1 service.

It was kinda of strange that Sean would show up inside the guesthouse from time to time, often as a suprise. There was no cleaning service. I was informed that overnite 'guest' would be an additional 25 Euro. Which was never mentioned before. After hours no one was avaiable to answer question or provide services. NO IRON in apartment.

I enjoyed my stay very much. And would reccommend staying there. I wish I could have had at least 1 more set of keys. 4 single adults and 2 set of keys, makes for tense situations.

For first timers to Amsterdam a full hotel may be better; if you expect housekeeping, room service and concierge and guides to resturants and events. After store hours there was no one available to answer questions or provide any services.

I visited Amsterdam with my boyfriend and two other couples and on arrival we were allocated a whole house to share. The property was lovely. It was beautifully furnished and well designed.
The bottles of wine were a very nice touch too!

The location was perfect, close to everything
and, the bed comfortable and we would stay
there again in a heartbeat! Don't hesistate

Very central location but not too busy. A perfect mixture of quiet and central. The room wasn't that big but was perfect for a weekend visit and very clean and attractive. Good value for money. Excellent.

Great welcome including wine & chocolates. Good value in the centre of Amsterdam. Sean took us personally to our rooms which were some way from the antique shop and gave us a good history lesson on the way.

A comfortable good sized room 'though it could have done with some comfortable arm chairs instead of dining type chairs. The wardrobe was unsafe as one of the doors fell off, obviously a long term problem as it was being held in place with a piece of string. Anyway We are not complaining as we had a great time and felt safe even though the room was on the ground floor with big shop type windows. I would recommend Truelove to anyone.

True Love Antiek Guesthouse made our trip special. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in both email correspondance and in person. In fact they almost go well above the call of duty to make you feel welcome - flowers, wine etc. The room we stayed in was modern meets classical decor, in fact I don't think I've stayed anywhere quite like it before! In fact it was probably the best and most unique place I've stayed, ever.

Our plane arrived very early and they
accomodated us nicely to meet us early in the
morning.

Truelove was the perfect setting for our
vacation. The location is perfect and close
to everything we love to frequent while in
Amsterdam - bakeries, shops, cafes, pubs. By
the end of our stay we had definitely
mastered the staircases in the house and were
zipping up and down! Also love the
ventiliation windows in the ceiling, they
provided such a beautiful breeze. The view of
the canal was gorgeous. Can't wait to stay
here again, hopefully this fall!

Excellent location, you cant ask for a better one. The house very clean and well decorated. We had a beautiful living room, a nice bedroom and a little bathroom downstairs. Paul gave us all the information we need it and even more. If we go back to Amsterdam again we will repeat the stay.

This service worked very well, we were able to walk from Central Station to the Antique shop and then were assited to the accommodation, which was better than we had imagined, very bright room with 4 windows in the bedroom and plenty of space as well as having a sun terrace ! On arrival we were supplied with free maps and guides and key places were marked for our benefit.

Our bill was exactly as quoted in emails, there were no hidden charges.

There could be more information about public parking, which is not so easy in Amsterdam.

No-one there at first but someone came very quickly. Could have explained the situation (i.e. rooms were in differen buildings) better.

The standard of the rooms were not very consistent - some were huge and others tiny. One room in particular I do not think was quite worth the 110 euros we paid. On the other hand, the studio room was beautiful. The whole thing was reasonably priced for amsterdam in general but I think the situation was made difficult as there were lots of us and some people's rooms were significantly better than others.

Probably would be more specific about how far apart the different buildings are. Also make it a bit more clear that the rooms are all very different with some sinificantly smaller than others.

On the website Truelove Antiek & Guesthouse looked really nice, modern and with great decor. We booked a suite with external bathroom. Where we stayed at was very disappointing. Starting with the living room: the lights did not work at all, the lock for the toilet was broken, the hand rail on the staircase was broken (bear in mind that both sets of staircases are very steep), the sofa was the oldest, very much used and most uncomfortable, the same with the rug. Decoration was very poor, there was a set of curtains missing and the rest were tearing on the sides. There were large water stains on the walls. The bedroom also had water stains on the fabric doors of the guardrobe, and the bedding, although clean, it looked old.
Our friends stayed at a beautiful 5 star hotel and payed 20 euro less than what we payed for this place!

The photos on the website are very misleading. There aren't any of the property we stayed at and they should be included; it would reflect the differences betwen properties so guests would know what to expect when staying there! On their website its written that all rooms have mini bar, this was not the case in our 'suite'.

Great location, shame about the lack of effort in making the place look as its described on its website: The rooms are decorated in light colours.The fabrics used in the rooms are mainly light in colour with some splashes of brightness in the form of cushions and pictures... It was far away from this description!

A very warm welcome to Amsterdam. A bit far away from the central station (esp walking in heavy snow) without direct transportation available (well... taxi not counted). The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
