The most enchanting
way to get to know Amsterdam is without any doubt by boat: the city has many waterways
that were filled in at the beginning of the 20th century, therefore private services
can tour you around, if the Canal Bus trips are not enough for you. The voyages,
departing from different starting points and offering varied facilities, from
candlelight cruises to brunches, provide a whole new picture of Amsterdam, with
the bridges and houses over the canal as part of a surely charming landscape.
As much as the tourist boats may offer
a high class service where everything is at hand, those visitors craving for adrenaline
may choose to rent a pedal boat.
Most
services are available between March and mid October, for the warm season. In
winter, the waterways usually freeze, and the sailing canals become ice rinks
for skating and playing around with the children. If you are up to this, watch
out for spots in the ice, especially under bridges and at the edges, for they
might be dangerous.

Two boats with a different capacity can be rented per hour (there is a minimum
charge of 1 hour and a half or 2 hours, however), and the boarding point is chosen
