& Activities - Water Sports in Amsterdam:
The
Netherlands has lots of water, and water sports are quite popular amongst the
locals. During summer weekends, you can see a lot or cars carrying sailboards!
The city often hosts competive events for canoeing and rowing. If you are visiting
Amsterdam and wish to rent a sailboard or sailboat, you can rent them at Duikelaars
on the Sloterplas Lake, Noordzijde 41 . You can sail at Loosdrecht , about 25km
south-east of Amsterdam or go to the IJsselmeer. You can rent catamarans at Muiden
which is about 20 km to east of Amsterdam. If you are interested in Canoeing,

Park offers a campsite and large lake is ideal for windsurfing and
other sports.

Fishing
You
can fish at the Bosbaan at the Amsterdamse Bos (a recreational park). You can
get your license there or at any fishing equipment store around the area.

A
popular sport amongst students, there are three rowing clubs here, the Skøll,
Nereus
and Okeanos.
The Amsterdam Bos is the largest recreational park in Amsterdam. Most of the rowing
competitions are held at the Bosbaan which runs through it. There are rowing clubs
here at the Bos. The Bos also has a large lake called the Grote Vijver where you
can canoe or rent a pedal boat. You can also row at the Amstel river. For further
