We were extremely pleased with all aspects of Studio Palamedes and our stay was very enjoyable. We did however, experience considerable difficulty when we needed to return to the studio at the end of an evening as none of the taxi drivers knew where the studio's were located. One taxi driver advised us to state the name of the main road as this would make it clearer. Perhaps you would like to consider mentioning this to future guests. Although this was a problem for us it would not put us off returning to the stdio's in the future.

We arrived late but Edwin & Karin were very nice. Once we got in to the studio we were greeted with a food basket which was great as we hadn't eaten all day and it also provided us with breakfast therefore making the initial moments of our stay very satisfying.

Great, exactly what you need for a relaxing stay in Amsterdam. Only 30 minutes walk from the main centre and close to all trams. The beds were so comfortable and the studio was very homely.

The initial arrival was very helpful, warm and courteous. We were visiting Amsterdam to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and to our surprise and delight there were 10 red roses and a bottle of wine presented to greet us. Unbelievable and unprecedented!

Studio Palamedes went way beyond our possible expectations in terms of facilities, and Karin and Edwin Kummer went way above our expectations in terms of friendliness, approachability, and helpfulness, especially as they had just suffered a bereavement.

i could not fault the appartment whatsoever it was clean and the owners were very pleasent and made us feel very welcome if you are fed up with staying in large boring hotels then look no further..

We arrived about ten minutes later than we specified, and the owner was there ready to greet us, and happy to accommodate our request for vegetarian food for the first morning breakfast. A very welcoming feel.

WE've been really glad to be there, the owners of the house were so nice and friendly, all was really clean and we slep really well there.
We had our own keys so we were fully indipendent and the first breakfast they gave to us was so rich!

It's close to Voondelpark, the biggest park of Amsterdam I think and it's really relaxing there.
It's well served by bus and in 5 minutes you are in the city center.
There's a supermarket just in front of the flat, a pizza slices shop and also an internet point.

it was really nice, just one room, but with marriage bed, a small wardrobe, 2 armchairs, tv, a table where to eat and the kitchen.
We had our own bathroom and all was really clean.
WE've been really glad to be there, the owners of the house were so nice and friendly, all was really clean and we slep really well there.

There is a supermarket within 1 minute walk. The nearest tram stop is also very close, but is NOT the stop listed in the directions, but a stop over a kilometre earlier!

An excellent private little place that is easy to get to, within walking distance of nearly everything, but not right in the middle of the tourist traps. Very friendly and helpful hosts and a well-stocked kitchen.

The owners were very helpful and accomodated our late arrival. The Studio was extremely clean and very well setup with many amenities that were useful and appreciated. Couldn't ask for a better location near the Museums and within easy walking distance to all the fun and even the red light district if you're so inclined. Definitely recommended and a genuinely comfortable place to explore amsterdam from. Many thanks to the owners.

At the reception the billing should be taken care of before going to the room. The gentleman was most helpful. The place was a little hard to find. Maybe mail a tourist map. The online maps are not too good. The written directions along with a paper copy would be good. Amsterdam could be quite confusing if it had been my first time.

To whomever this may concern,
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a graduate of the Hilton College of Hotel & Restautrant Management. Also, used to manage the reception desk of a 604 room hotel and helped with the renovation of a 5 star hotel called the St. Regis.
The stay I had gave mixed feelings. I enjoyed the room greatly. The room was very accomodating with all that was needed for a good stay. The only down sides was that the construction on the exterior of the building was not a plesant surprise. Two keys would be better if you know more than one person is staying in the room. Climbing up the stairs was not expected at all. That was quite a climp! If my travel partner or myself had any handicap you would have had a very unsatisfied person that would never return and would speak very negative of the stay. Advanced notice of this would be advised just like the construction. Also a sign ouside the door saying you have arrived at the tight place!
Overall for the price the place was very good. It is just these little inconvieniences that would deter other people. I just want to give constructive critisizm. During my stay in Amsterdam I saw moving men use the wench to move a couch up to the 3rd floor of a home. Maybe do the same with the luggage! It would add to the guests experience. The website looks as to attract an average traveler not a student economy hotel type traveler right!

Excellent room with reasonable access to many places in Amsterdam. Good value for the price. Just that those stairs are quite steep. I would have them ask if they make a reservation if the place is still under construction. When I was at work during construction we were obligated to tell people so that they do not go home with fellings that they were missled. Overall the place was a good value to 'me' and my needs.
If you have any questions I would be more than happy to help you and your staff. You have a good product with potential.

We came by tram to Overtoom and had to phone from there to find out exactly where the accommodation was, but that was fine. Edwin Kummer was very clear with directions and even came out to look for us!

I found it very helpful to see the photos of the accommodation on the web site before we came. The stairs up were quite steep but I think it mentions that on the web site. We knew exactly what it would look like and where in town it was. It was just as we expected, very well fitted out and just what we wanted. The inclusion of a fan was also very welcome!

Karen and Edwin were there to say goodbye when we left and Edwin carried our cases down which was a great help.

There is a bus that goes out to Schiphol from just round the corner in Leidesplein. It meant that we didn't have to go back into the main station to catch the train out again. I can't remember if directions to/from Schiphol are included on the website but that might be useful to have.

The accommodation was first rate - everything you could need. The owners were very helpful and welcoming - even a bottle of wine awaiting our arrival! They were there if we needed anything but otherwise left us to our own devices. All in all just exactly what we wanted.

Hotel/Studio Palemedes was an excellent place. I would highly recommend it to friends. Not only was the apartment clean and decorated with an 'Amsterdam' feel, the family that owns it had stocked the refrigerator with a few essentials... bread, cheese, jelly, yougurt, juice, butter, etc. Now that's really going the extra mile! It was very reasonably priced and in a great location,too. The owners were very friendly,and offered useful travel information to us.

My husband and I arrived very early(8 am) and when we arrived at the apartments our room was waiting for us! We were so relieved! After an 8 hour flight it was wonderful to have a place to put our stuff and take a quick nap! We will return and have already suggested this location to many of our friends! The stairs! If older individuals booked they might have trouble climbing all those stairs. It took me a few goes to feel somewhat comfortable going down them.

Great place to stay, very nominal rates, clean big rooms and a kitchen and refrigerator really makes you feel at home. In a beautiful area of town, very accessible to public transportation, I had no complaints whatsoever. If you are thinking about staying here, do it! You won't regret it. This would beat any hotel you could stay in, and will probably be cheaper too.

The accomdation is spacious and ideal for the city centre only a 10-15 walk away. Edwin and Karen were always on hand if we needed anything or directions and couldn`t have helped anymore if they tried !

The stairs are very steep! Regular visitors o canal houses in Amsterdam would know this, but with lots of luggage to carry up 4 flights of steep stairs is a challenge (no lift).

Heel gezellig. Not palatial in size but very cozy, comfortable, and convenient. The location is great (near the historic centrum but close to Vondepark, museumplein, shopping, etc.) The owners have provided a fully stocked kitchen (including dishwashing soap, coffee and spices), and the bathroom features full size shampoo, bath gel.) And the owners also do a nice job supplying breakfast items on the first day---they don't skimp, which is a nice touch. We found the room to be very clean and well maintained.

Studio Palamedes is a lovely cosy studio apartment in a great, quiet location. Everything we needed and more and spotlessly clean. My wife and I had a fantastic stay there and enjoyed the accomodation almost as much as Amsterdam.

Turns out I did not have the correct address (very likely my fault) and the cab driver had a helluva time finding this place. Having never been to Amsterdam, we weren't much help.

Unfortunately, the building was being tuckpointed/sandblasted during our stay. However, since the weather was poor most of the week, they couldn't work and we were woken up only once during out stay. Also, I'm not sure who designs Amsterdam toilets, but kinda' odd with the ledge and all....
