The "9 straatjes" which translates into the "9 streets" is one of Amsterdam's most exclusive and prestigious areas. The luxury maisonette apartment is located in Reestraat which is bordered at each end respectively by the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht canals and which is undoubtedly one of the most famous of the 9 streets.
Because of its picturesque surroundings, Reestraat has been often featured in major Dutch and international films. In May 2004, it was used as background for the new Hollywood blockbuster "Oceans 12" featuring a host of major stars including Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Elliot Gould, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon. |

By Air: There is a direct train connection to Central Station from Schiphol Airport. Typical journey time is less than 15 minutes. If you wish to use public transport to get to the Studio from Central Station, take any tram or bus which goes to Westertoren (also known as Westerkerk) from where the maisonette apartment is a two-minute walk. Alternatively, when you come out of the front entrance of the Station, there is a bus halt immediately in front of the Victoria Hotel, where you can get the "Opstapper" bus. This bus stops at the corner of Reestraat, but you have to ask the driver as all stops are by request only. There is also a KLM hotel shuttle bus service which goes from the airport and has as one of its stops the Pulitzer Hotel on Prinsengracht. By Train: Reestraat is a short taxi journey from Central Station or less than 15 minutes walk. If walking, exit the front entrance of the Station and walk down Damrak until you reach Dam Square and the Royal Palace. Facing the palace, take the road which runs along the left-hand side and keep going straight. You will cross the city's main canals - Singel, Herengracht & Keizersgracht. The road between Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht is Reestraat. The closest landmark is the Pulitzer-Sheraton hotel which is just around the corner on the Prinsengracht. By Car: If coming by car, keeping following the signs for city centre (centrum). When you reach Westerkerk on Rozengracht, turn into Prinsengracht on the opposite side from the church and Reestraat is the first turning on the left. There is canal-side parking for which you have to use parking meters in effect from 9 am to 11 pm. The closest garage car park is Europarking on Marnixstraat about 10 minutes walking distance. |
