The property did not accept Mastercard and on the website it indicated that credit card was accepted. We then had to pay with cash which impacted on our budget a little. ... Maybe the room looked a little better on the website, but the location was fantastic and I cannot complain about the room. We would stay there again.

Wife moaned as there was no hairdryer and telephone was missing from room, which would have been useful as there was a party of us so we could arrange meeting times etc. ... Excellent value, good location, 5 min walk from central station and a full english breakfast avaiable in bar for €10. Definitely use next visit.

The clerk was polite and helped me to bring my luggages to my room. I didn't had to request his help: spontaneously, he brought the biggest and heaviest among my luggages. I was pleased. ... Your site says: 'Each room has its own shower...'. What it doesn't say is that people will have to take a shower under cold or lukewarm (at best) water. I have stayed one week at Frisco Inn. During all my stay, I couldn't take a single warm or a hot shower at Frisco Inn. For 60 euros per night, I deserve better.
Your site says: 'Frisco Inn is a small comfortable hotel (...) which offers you a clean, modern, inexpensive accommodation'. Indeed, the rooms at Frisco Inn are clean. Except for the rug. I used to wear white socks in my room and their sole became ash-grey within a couple of days. That ash was not from me. Moreover, I've made trips in Paris, Berlin, Glasgow and Brussels and I had a better value for my money in those cities than in Amsterdam.
Your site says: 'The ambiance is quite calm, but you have to think that you are in the center of Amsterdam: there could be noise in the street during the night!.' Actually, it is impossible to sleep at Frisco Inn without ear plugs. The main entrance door and the door of each room closes with a loud 'bang' each time someone enters or leaves the hotel. A nightmare. So the trouble doesn't come mainly from the street (as your site suggests) but rather from within that noisy hotel.
... Rooms are vacum-cleaned rarely. Showers are taken under cold or lukewarm water. Entrance door and room doors bang very loudely each time someone enters or leaves the hotel; it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep at Frisco Inn without ear plugs (or without being completely drunk). ... A very very very noisy hotel. Avoid it at all cost unless you really don't have the choice (if so, don't forget to bring some ear plugs).

Kelly was very very helpful. We realised that with the tariff we sought it would not have been a first rate hotel. The room was comfortable but, for us oldies, the stairs rather difficult. But every assistance was given in getting our luggage to and from the room. Being close to the red light district it was very noisy outside, but that is to be expected. Apart from being noisy we would recommend Frisco Inn to our friends. ... Hard to answer question 9 - can't say whether the images on the website conveyed what we expected ... The stairs!!! ... Adequate in a noisy neighbourhood

At first, you think the price is expensive, especially when exchanging USD. But it's a bargan compared to many other hotels of that quality. Contrary to the experience of others, I didn't mind the very steep stairs at all. Just don't drink and climb. And anyone who climbs with heels is knucklehead. The room was quite small but very adequate for my needs. The room faced the street and was a little noisy, but I'm used to ear plugs, anyway. Staff were great: very helpful and friendly. You can't beat the location. It's perfect for the train station and all else--it's truly in the heart of Amsterdam. My ONLY complaint was the lack of hot water. They probably need a little larger water heater or on-demand heaters in each room.

Room wasn't ready until 1:00pm I think. It was expected. Was ask to come back in a hour or two. So much stuff to do and see I didn't make it back until the sun went down. So it was all good. ... I got the single room. It was small like I expected, simple/clean and a very good price. Had no trouble with noise. Stairs were very steep but fun to climb after a night at the pubs. The location couldn't get any better. Seconds from everything, Coffee shops,Red light district,Town Square, everything!!! Receptionist was very and cute polite. Payed in advance with VISA when I first arrived. Didn't check out because I left at 4:00am and desk appeared to be closed, but had no billing problems. Will stay again when I return. See ya next year Frisco!!! ... Did not check out. Left very early in the morning and Bar was closed. Was worried there would be extra billing or nights charged to my VISA. Everything turned out fine. ... Everything was stated. ... If you want to celebrate with friends in your room, would recommend different Hotel. Rooms are too small. Shouldn't party in your room anyway. Your in Amsterdam, hotels are for sleeping when you come in LIT at 5:00am.

I was just disappointed with the arrangement of the room. I reserved a single room and I was placed on the 2nd floor, room 10. I was told that although there were 2 single beds, that room is a single room ! Well, that argument was ok. The only thing I did not like was that the 2 beds were blocking the passage and worse... I could not unfortunately open the windows because the beds were blocking them ! Pity because I could not really enjoy the view considering that my windows had a nice view. Also, the door was, I supposed, thin because I could hear when the people they pass by the corridor and when the other doors closed. I did not have the pleasure of seeing my room cleaned nor arranged everytime I come back in the evening. I was told that they do the cleaning only every other 4 days ! Since I only stayed for 3 nights, I did not have that priviledge. But I like the hotel location though.

We did experience a lot of noise from other guests coming back from their night out. Our neighbors were fairly ill mannered and attempted to have a party in their room. We did contact the staff and they did their best to quiet them down although we were woken several times through the night. ... Central, simple, friendly and because it is such an old building it would always be a bit noisy even with thoughtful guests.

small cosy hotel, situated in the heart of amsterdam, friendly staff,a dodgy smoke detector which went off a couple of time when there was no smoke, house keeping were a bit of a hurry to get you out in the morning, but in general i would say that this is a good hotel for a person or persons to stay for a weekend

The room was smaller than we anticipated: we were told that it was the smallest room in the property but we had not realised just how small it was going to be.
On booking the room we were advised that 'it is one of our smaller doubles, but it has a great view' but in fact the view was just the back of the Beurse van Berlage, not a great view, and we couldn't open the blind because the bed was above the base of the window.
The room was not cleaned/made up during our stay and we had to ask for a clean supply of towels.
There was a lot of noise late at night when other residents were coming in.
We did, however, find the staff helpful and the hotel is well-located and convenient. ... We checked out early and the receptionist arrived just as we were leaving.
