The staff was personable and welcoming. However, I would not rate it three stars, as you do. My request for additional towels was simply refused, a definite downer, and they had no cake soap. On the plus side, the breakfast was good aznd the facility quite clean. ... I had e-mailed that I wanted to use a credit cazrd and was assured that there woujod be no extra charge. Upon arrival, the clerk was intent on imposing a charge. fortunately, I had a copy of the e-mail with me and he backed off on that. ... None. ... There was considerable construction going on on the street out front. The location is excellent from the standpoint of transit access. ... Adequate, but certanly not three-star.

a very nice helpful hotel we were very impressed by them ... well position for the 'nicer' part of town, lovely big rooms ... small, crooked and quaint family run hotel, which is clean, with very helpful staff with a good local knowledge

Maybe fresh towels could have been provided. ... We were half an hour late as we slept it out and this was not a problem-staff were very nice. ... Very central-beside a major shopping street, clean, spacious, good value for money, friendly and helpful staff. Would definitley stay there again.

It was very comfortable however the television could have been a bit bigger for a hotel, and they should have been a Phone of some sort if not to call out for at lease emergency use. ... Very clean, comfortable and basic for a week end break and central to all major sites.

I felt the linens were a bit 'old' the bed spread had a cigarette burn (or two) ont it, and the alarm clock was very poor quality. Definitely need some better cloces. The alarm clock did not have a 'repeat' feature and I was concerned I would over sleep and miss my train / flight. ... Great loacation, cozy, friendly owners, good value.

Very helpful staff both during the day and evening although it would have been nice to know that the lounge area off reception is not available to guests at night. ... A very pleasant and comforatble hotel with a fantastic central location ... There was a 4% additional charge for paying by credit card which is a bit unfair for tourists. However this seems standard in most Dutch hotels I have stayed in! ... It would have been helpful to have had a lift however it is a very old narrow house and is impossible to fit. ... A clean, comforatble place to stay

very friendly and courteous welcome, with hints on where to visit /eat.Always on hand to help with questions and booking in was trouble free. ... The website made the rooms look somewhat more up to date and spacious than they actually were, although they were very clean and quaint. Bit of a struggle getting up and downstairs with luggage though. The curved shower doors could do with attention, being rather precarious & liable to come loose, but plenty of hot water & clean bathrooms made up for this! ... Must mention how nice, friendly and polite all the staff were during our stay. ... Quaint hotel with examples of several cultures seen around the building in the form of pictures, furniture pieces, historical displays, making interesting `browsing`.

The arrival experience was good. We were expected, room was ready and recieptionist very helpful. ... The bathroom was very small. The hotel was OK but could be very nice with some modernisation. Rooms not very soundproof. ... The hotel was reasonable for what we paid and for the fact it was in the centre of Amsterdam.

The Bed was THE MOST Comfortable bed that we have ever slept on!
There was a strange bump on the floor in the room, but it did not cause us any difficulty. ... I would recommend this site to friends. It is well situated in the center of Amsterdam and easy to get to interesting tourist sites.

The hotel is in an incredible location. We walked everywhere. The room was clean and a good size. The mattresses were really comfortable; however, instead of a king size mattress they pushed two twin beds together. The bedding was the best I've ever had in a hotel. The sheets were soft, and the hotel used real comforters instead of awful bed covers and scratchy wool blankets. There wasn't an elevator. ... It is super easy to get to. It is clean. The staff is friendly and helpul. It was in an old, charming building, but I think it has been recently renovated (all the plumbing works very well).

The staff were all very helpful, it was a charming hotel, very clean spacious rooms and the most comfortable beds
The Hallways (decor and carpets) could have done with a bit of updating but apart from that found the hotel very charming, and in a wonderful loction
Basic breakfast, but very good
Staff on Reception very helpful
Overall top marks! ... but need to pay attention to hallway and stairs ... would definitely recommend and would stay there again ... charming, typical canal style house - great value for money

Advice on which carpark to use may be useful if people are coming by car ... Staff always cheerful and pleasant, clean room and interesting to see inside one of the houses which we speant all weekend admiring and taking photos of. ... Excellent position, good value for a city centre hotel, would definitely recommend and/or reuse ourselves. Now we know where to park it will be easier to reach. Room 41 where we stayed was at the very top was a birds eye view of the nearby roofs, possibly not suitable for the less active, but caused us both much amusement as we staggered upstairs. Had a fantastic weekend.

The staff were very friendly. I think they should give people instructions about where to park. We parked in a car park which was quite a long walk from the hotel, and carried our luggage to the hotel. The receptionist told us that we could use the hotel's car parking service which was much cheaper than the public car park. ... We thought that although the carpet in the reception was in quite good condition, the stair carpet was very tatty and could be a safety hazard if it deteriorates further, especially for children and the elderly ... The hotel arranged for the car parking service, and our car was brought to us, although we had to wait abit longer than we intended ... I think that the car parking service should be mentioned as above.
I think it would be fair to mention that because it is close to the road and trams, it can be quite noisy during the night-time. ... It is ideally placed to explore Amsterdam's many and varied attractions

They were very kind and let us check-in almost 2 hours before the stated time. ... It was not very clean looking and we had to ask them to vacuum the carpet. The bathroom was not very nice. I wouldn't really recommend it.

I had mentioned earlier that I'm coming with my partner and therefore appreciate a double bed, but the room given to us had a twin bed instead. ... The room was smaller than expected. ... The bathroom of my room didn't include any air-conditioner or window, therefore it was a bit humid inside. No hair drier in the rooms, but may 'borrow' one from reception (probably subject to availability). ... Centrally located, good value for the money, but some rooms may not be bright and spacious..

It was not clear indicated in the pricelist that the booked rooms were located in the backyard with windows looking into a covered narrow yard with other windows just opposite. luckily, there was another room overlooking the canal available, but at a higher price ... breakfast was ok, but somewhat boring..more varities and changes would be a good idea. ... I didn't expect to pay a surcharge for payment via creditcard to make up for the hotel fee. this is very unusual in the hotelbusiness, considering the the total bill ... very central, lots of good tram connections. forget the backyard rooms, but the rooms with canal view are good

Would also be nice to have a bar fridge or at least a coffee pot in our room because you can't get a cup of coffee from the kitchen. ... Hotel de Arts is easy to find. Close to all tourist sites.
