Within a short walking distance from Hotel New Amsterdam, you will find most major tourist attractions. The hotel is located on the border of the Jordaan, within a short walking distance from the Central Station, which used to be a residential quarter, nowadays transformed into a very popular destination brimming with cafés and restaurants. In the immediate hotel surroundings, you can stroll around very picturesque neighbourhoods, such as the Prinseneiland, and the countless small yards - many of which concealed - of the Jordaan. Most of Amsterdam's famous squares, like the Leidseplein and the Dam (where you will find Madame Tussaud's, Koninklijk Paleis or the Royal Palace, Nieuwe Kerk or the New Church) are located just a stone throw's away! Anne Frank-huis and the Westerkerk (Westchurch), as well as many interesting markets are also located very close to the hotel. |

From the airport and the Central Station:
From the airport the easiest and very comfortable is to take a train from under the airport terminal. Trains are very frequent, every 15 minutes, and the ride takes only about 18 minutes. From Central Station take a taxi to our address, Herengracht 13.
It is also possible to walk from Central Station to us. It will take you about 10 minutes and you will see some of Amsterdam's beautiful sites. When leaving Central Station at the city side (where all the trams are, not the harbour side where the ferries are) make a right and walk along the building, pass Ibis Hotel and go left over the modern steel, pedestrian bridge. Over the bridge turn right and follow the street under the road. After this tunnel make a right over the bridge, after the bridge turn left into Singel. Take the first right into Brouwersgracht, follow Brouwersgracht until the first cross canal; this is Herengracht. Find us at number 13.
Arriving by car: The A1, A2 and A4 all reach the A10 (the ring road around Amsterdam). Choose the A10 in the direction East or North (in Dutch: Ring Oost, Ring Noord). Take exit number: S114. Follow the directions S114 into the city, you will be led through a tunnel. After the tunnel follow the directions for S100; you will see the water of the IJ on your right hand side, after two or three kilometers you will see the rear of Amsterdam Central Station on your left hand side. Pass the station, take the second left (just over the bridge); follow the street under the railroad tracks. Go straight over the crossing with traffic lights and drive into Singel. Follow the Singel until the first cross canal called Brouwersgracht, make a right into Brouwersgracht. Follow Brouwersgracht until the first possibility to make a left; this should be Herengracht. Find us at number 13.
