SCOTLAND!!!!! ... SCOTLAND!!!!! We were there to watch Scotland play Holland in Amsterdam, the staff were great and really made us welcome, they all entered into the spirit of the atmosphere, many thanks to them. I even had my girlfriend with me and she loved it. ... SCOTLAND!!! ... A nice place to stay provided you can get hot water in the morning, there was no hot water on the morning we checked out, but not a great problem.

our stay at the botel although short it was pleasant. The room was very small and the bathroom was to.my impression of the Botel is that its in diar need of a face lift to bring it a little more upmarket. The veiw from our room was far from picturesk, infact the back of shipping containers on a building site is not what i like to see when i open my curtains first thing in the morning. This break was surposed to be so romantic for my girlfriend and myself, and now i feel let down. The botel came highy recomended to us,but i do not feel the that we will be able to recomend the Botel in the way. pete ... Clean, very small, in need of modernising, friendly, safe, very poor veiws, dont open the curtains. pete

We had arrived very early in the morning from a flight that left my wife ill. The staff at the Botel went out of their way to accomodate our situation. All were very kind and helpful. I will highly recommend to others. ... Ideally located, kind/caring/helpful staff with all accomodations.

Saturday night was noisy, but this was due to customers, not to the staff. ... No hair drayer in the room ... Pas de mauvaise surprise. Très satisfaisant vu la réputation moyenne des hôtels à Amsterdam. De plus très bien situé pour les transports ( Gare centrale, bus urbains) et les activités. Demander une chambre côté mer.

Apart from having to negotiate the major reconstruction work at Centraal Station, our arrival went very smoothly. ... Staff very helpful. Our flight back to the UK was not until evening, so the facility for storing our luggage was much appreciated. ... None ... A very comfortable, good value, centrally located hotel, which we look forward to making a return visit to in the not-too-distant future. We thouroghly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Amstel Botel without hesitation.

I had requested corner or canal facing rooms. Reception were unaware of this request and unable to change our rooms which faced in the opposite direction. This was a building site but it did not affect our enjoyment too much. ... The rooms were fairly compact and could not be described as spacious. ... As we had an evening flight the reception staff were very helpful in arranging for our luggage to be stored during the day. ... Breakfast better than expected. I was not expecting bacon for example which is fairly unusual in continental style breakfasts. ... Very central and an excellent base to explore the delights of Amsterdam. Good value accommodation, good breakfast, rooms a little on the small side. I would certainly stay again next time I visit Amsterdam.

We asked about changing sterling for Euros and the staff were willing to help but could only change a small amout. Would be nice to have a better money exchange service ... Room and Botel really nice for the price, however the bathrooms are minute!! ... Have told friends and recommended this stay. We are visiting again and will stay on Botel again

I expected tea and coffee making facilites in the room, (although not listed on voucher) and this would have the stay more enjoyable. ... Our view was a building site which was quite noisy and works continued into the night. ... Good location for exploring Amsterdam, clean and basic accomodation. The bar and games room was a nice area to meet in

it wasnt as close as we expected but the transport to and from the botel was excellent.we would definatly stay there again ... our room was serviced every day and clean towels put in.my only niggle was the night lite,as im an avid reader when i put the lamp on to read on a night ,where the light shone down was very very dusty,i dont think the cleaners can see it from an upright position you have to lie down to see it.other than that for the price,it was spot on. ... cant wait to go back.all the staff very friendly, especially the bar staff ... where to catch the boat to go to the botel.it took us ages and two trips to the tourist information before we found it. ... cheap n cheerfull

1 out of 3 rooms not ready but we were a little early but they did allow us to put our bags in a secure room and we had the opportunity to have a drink at the very friendly boatel bar. ... breakfast was dissappointing-ran out of food prior to alloted finishing time and did not replenish. Also noise from some rooms was excessive during the night- could have done with security trying to monitor noise level. Although this in no way spoilt our stay but could bother maybe older couples. ... check out ran smoothly and we were allowed to leave our bags in a secure room till we flew home later that night. ... remind people it is a converted boat so obviously the rooms are cabins so they are not overly spacious and especially the bathroom area. ... more than adequate for what it is and for what you pay!

I probably had a bad experience due to the fact that i lost my credit card and had to pay cash for everyone's first night, which i got reimbursed when my new card arrived the next day. ... The twin room had a bad outlook which was overlooking water pumps, whereas the triple room had a nice outlook overlooking the canal. The rooms were small but always clean and quiet which was nice. ... In a good position, value for money, well worth going back to.

The room was smaller & more compact than I expected. But more importantly I was surprised that there was no Coffee/Tea making facilities in the room. ... There was Construction work- building new hotels next door hence 1 side of the boat was very noisy getting up in the morning. We were able to swap next day to the other. As for spacious, the rooms are quite compact as may be expected on a boat really. ... They had a room to keep checked out luggage to come & collect later which was helpful. ... I was hoping to use the Internet/e-mail service but it was quite expensive. I did not see it being used which must mean that others felt the same. With a captive audience that we all are it would be more sensible to price it more competitively. ... A different experience to staying in an ordinary hotel - certainly a good view and spacious dining area. Worth checking out for a change - & of course quite close to the Station

We had a triple, but there was no way to get up to the top bunk!!!I was with 2 averaged-height teens, but none o us could get to the top bunk or down easily. a small ladder would have helped!!! ... Very convenient and very close to the train station, which is very important if you have to get to the airport early. Also liked the early breakfast, once again because we had to get to the airport early... These were the main reasons I chose the hotel in the first place. Also, appropriate for staying at when you're with kids, as opposed to other hotels near the central station.

All very good, staff friendly and helpful, and sorted us all out payment-wise and got us checked in with no problem. ... The only negative thing I have to say is that the rooms we had were at the rear of the boat, next door to a huge building site, and it was quite noisy and difficult to sleep. I wish we had been given rooms towards the front of the Botel, then the noise would not have been a problem for us. ... All fine, we were allowed to store our luggage until we left at half past one for the Hoek of Holland, which was very convenient. ... Building site - make sure people ask for a room on the side of the Botel that is furthest away from the site. ... Wicked - really cool, friendly staff, cheap, excellent breakfast, nice clean rooms, convenient location.

Close to the railway station which was good ... We had a view of a noisy buiding site rather than the canal view we hoped for.
Staff were always friendly and helpful, especially to our 2 young children.
We think it is child friendly and would recommend it.
The breakfast is good, although we think it was too smoky ; we recommend a total smoking ban in public places where meals are eaten, which is long overdue. ... Efficient ... State that it is not close to any retaurants other than a chinese restaurant ... Worth considering for a short city break, great central location

Although we booked two rooms at the same time, on arrival we were allocated one room on floor 4 and one on floor one which was less than satisfactory. positive: very close to the center and damrak ,Central station, but also very noisy due to the construction site next to it and the trains arriving day and night at Central station . Sleep was possible only until 0630 or max 0700 in the morning . But anyway we were satisfactory .

... very big construction site next to it (looks like it will stay for a while ) NOISE! no car parking immediatly at the botel ..needed to park the car abt 1 km away at the cruise centre ...
