By plane:
Coming from the airport a taxi is easiest. A taxi will take you to the hotel within 25 minutes. You may also take a train from the airport to central station Amsterdam. This takes about 20 minutes. From central station you can either take a tram (number 1, 2 or 5) to the 'Spui' (at 150 meters from the hotel) or, again the easiest, a taxi.
By car:
- Coming from Utrecht Highway (A2): take highway A2/E35 towards Amsterdam. Take junction S110 in direction city center. Across the "Utrechtsebrug", at the lights turn right this is the "President Kennedy Laan" followed by the "Amsteldijk". At the T-crossing turn left to "Stadhouderskade". Turn right at the traffic lights. You will see the Nederlandse Bank on your right hand side. Go straight ahead into the Utrechtsestraat. After about 500 meters you come to the Herengracht (the third canal you cross), where you turn left. Follow this canal for about 1200 meters. On the right hand side at number 341 you will find the Ambassade Hotel.
- Coming from Amersfoort, take highway A1/E35 towards Amsterdam. When you reach Knooppunt Watergraafsmeer follow the A10 in the direction Amsterdam Oost. When you reach Knooppunt Amsterdam Amstel, take junction S110 towards Amsterdam Centrum. Across the "Utrechtsebrug" at the lights turn right this is the "President Kennedy Laan" followed by the "Amsteldijk". Then as above.
- Coming from Den Haag - Schiphol airport, take highway A4, in the direction of Amsterdam. Just before you reach Amsterdam, take the ring road (A10), direction Zaandam. Take exit S106 (Osdorp) and follow direction Centrum. This means: at the traffic lights turn right (Cornelis Lelylaan). Along the traffic light, straight on across the bridge and turn left (Overtoom). The first T-crossing go left. Go straight on until you reach the second traffic lights. Turn right onto Rozengracht. Follow this street and its continuation Raadhuisstraat. When you reach the third canal turn right onto Herengracht. Follow this canal and cross it at the third bridge. After 50 meters you will find the Ambassade Hotel on your right at number 341. For parking the car we advise you to drive to the Ambassade Hotel first. In case there is a parking spot close to the hotel we can provide you with a day ticket or a three day ticket for parking in the street. Should there be no parking space available along the canal we will direct you to the closest public parking called "Europarking".
By train:
The nearest railway station is Amsterdam central station. From there you can easily reach the hotel with a short taxi ride or you can get a tram as above. |
